Mr. Martinez has been a Deputy City Manager, Community Development Director, Assistant Community Development Director, Building and Planning Manager, and Chief Building Official. He is a Certified Building Official, Certified Plans Examiner, and Certified State of California Energy Auditor. He has been very active in the California Building Officials organization serving as its president. He teachers building code issues and was awarded the California Building Officials Educator of the year award.
